the weekend is God
Yo.
No classes on Friday. Looking forward to a very relaxing weekend after a week from Hades:
Monday -- scary book review was due. Finished it under much undue stress. Kicked the crap out of vital parts at the gyme. Too much reading. Felt like the beginning of another four-day migraine.
Tuesday -- sleep-deprived. Looooong classes + arrival of anticipated migraine = another late night.
Wednesday -- panic over presentation for exchange info session, goes as planned, though our heroine slightly thrown off game by snickers in the back of the room. Was my fly undone? No, I checked. Do I have big ears? Naw, they're actually pretty cute. Were they jerks? Unquestionably. Make-up class (unrelated to cosmetics) of Modern Jewish History from 3:30-5:00. Vision starts to blur -- ooh goody, the migraine's back for round three. Gotta love that tylenol. Yum yum! Eat it like candy. No gyme. Sad Nome.
Thursday -- panic over presentation for English. Topic: A Close Reading of Hemingway's short stories "Big Two Hearted River," Parts 1 & 2. Pull it off despite 6 hours of sleep and two-hour prep time. Prof "commends" me on my "methodology." Cute blonde in back says "it was totally good," points out I've picked Dr. Z's favourite stories (her pet name for the Prof...hmmmm. Does she get around? Do I care?). Glad I didn't know that in advance. Meet Prof. G., master of close readings, who taught me everything I know, after class. Forget to credit him with my brilliance with Dr. Z. Feel guilty. Talk about his cute kids and wife instead. Wish I had some cute kids. Or maybe just a puppy. Prof. G. says he's addicted to weight training. Only one word for this: awesome. (Editor's note: Prof. G. is a pleasant, short, small, bald dude. NEVER would have taken him for a lifter). Go to gyme. Pleasant if painful cardio. Rip shoulders to shreds. Check out the (form of) the guy next to me (he's doing shoulders too). Call Gabey for updates before he leaves town for the weekend. We have dinner at Tang's. Food is most satisfactory and conversation flows pleasantly. This is the most relaxed I've felt all week....Come home to watch CSI and Without a Trace, my prime TV weaknesses. Don't squirm during autopsy scenes. Pet the cat lying in the hallway.
Woo.
What a week.
No classes tomorrow, just gyme and dinner at housesittees.' Saturday is the blood-letting. Stay tuned.
My back hurts.
Until demain.
